The real Bob McDonnell

I keep seeing commercial advertising promoting Bob McDonnell’s candidacy as Virginia’s “Jobs Governor” – which is ludicrous in the extreme. Bob McDonnell, who has been running for governor for about two years has done a lot of work to make himself look more moderate, but do NOT be fooled. McDonnell is no moderate. He is […]

Vintage Virginia Wine Festival

Erci, Kate, and I went to Vintage Virginia 2009 today and sampled wines. Barboursville’s “Octogon VIII” (2005) was fantastic, and their Nebbiolo Reserve (2005) was also spectacular. They also had a whole flight of good whites including a dry Riesling (2007), Sauvignon Blanc (2008), and Reserve Chardonnay (2006). Mountfair’s “Inauguration” was fantastic. Montfair is down […]

Minibar Experience

Virginia’s state-wide elections this year […]

Used Love Seat, Free to a Good Home

This is a cheap La-Z-Boy brand love seat that has been in our family room for a year or so. The recliner mechanics have failed, so it is love seat only unless you feel like repairing it. Our house has two gentle cats, so if you have allergies to cats you’ll want to steam clean […]
