Virginia holds elections every year. Typically federal offices are done on even years just like the rest of the country; but state office elections are held on odd years. In 2007 there will be re-elections for all the House of Delegates seats and all the State Senator seats.
House of Delegates seats at least partially in Prince William County:
13-Marshall (R), 31-Lingamfelter (R), 50-Miller (R), 51-McQuigg (R), 52-Frederick (R)
What an embarassing slate of delegates, they should all be challenged, but special attention should be lavished on the 13th district to replace “turkey-baster” Bob Marshall for his sponsorship of the awful Marshall/Newman bigtory amendment. Frankly I think all of these races can be won in 2007 except possibly the 31st, but even Lingamfelter needs a challenge.
State Senate seats at least partially in Prince William County:
29-Colgan (D), 36-Puller (D), 39-O’Brien (R)
I don’t know what Prince William County seats will be up for election in 2007, but we should start working on turning the county blue as early as possible this cycle.
Statewide, my number two target after Bob Marshall is Dave Albo (47th house district) and my number three target is Stephen Newman (23rd senate district) because he sponsored that horrible amendment into the state senate.
